Meet the Seven Light of Guidance

Ever heard of the M-Theory. Apparently, some physicists believe that our existence is one of many. That’s right. There’s not just one universe, but all of existence is made up a multiverse. And the multiverse is the result of the theorized giant membranes that collided during the Big Bang, hitting at multiple points causing multiple creations of universes.

Though parallel universes are still yet to be discovered and it is still only a theory, I’m open to the possibility…or possibilities.

I’ve always been a believer of the paranormal, the supernatural…anything weird or spooky, unexplained or downright unbelievable. I truly believe we, as humans, do not hold the answer to everything and anything and our minds are designed to have limits. Limits to understand certain things, to grasp certain concepts, to fully comprehend certain ideals. And that is why some things are best left to be untouched or just believed in our hearts. If we want to, that is.

Anyway, what I’m trying to get at here is the endless possibilities of my own existence. But I’m just gonna focus on seven, well six other possibilities if you exclude this one already. Now, what if in another universe, I’m:

- a billionaire who owns and runs his own enterprise
- a high-ranking police officer
- a famous hero and agent of the government
- a psychotic vigilante seeking justice
- a hermit, who left his homeland, seeking peace far away
- a woman

Interesting possibilities there. And that’s why I think they shouldn’t just be wasted in mind. I think I’m gonna write a feature script soon based on this idea and see what kind of ending I can cook up and what exactly is the premise of the story.

It should be fun!

Powers and Rankings

I came across this website called Comic Vine and they’ve got this nifty ranking system ranging from a bunch of categories like most powerful to attractive female to even insanely rich. The interesting thing to note here though is how in the hell did my No.2 girl, Psylocke, end up outside of the Top 10 and who the hell is Ms. Victory?

Sometimes, I really don’t get their pickings. But anyhoo, the results are never final so there’s still hope for my Black Cat to climb up to the No. 1 spot. Here’s the site:

And speaking of comic book superheroines, here’s the first of my pixel art. Scar’s first wife, Sense:

The 9th Grade

Anant Shiva to me – February 25, 2007/via Gmail

hey yo!
I’ve read the 2 scripts and I really enjoyed them! There’s huge potential in this little world you’ve dreamed up and I’m looking forward to checking out the other scripts as soon as I squeeze in some time. Ok, before I go on, as soon as I opened the documents, I couldn’t help but notice how different it looked from the comic scripts I’ve seen on BBC’s Writersroom. Where did you get the format that you’re working with? I’ve attached the formats from Writersroom with this email for your reference.

I’ve highlighted the actual bits from the script in red so it’ll be easier to read. Ok baby, let’s get down to it:

I loved Part 1. I felt the imagery was top notch and the story itself moved beautifully. There is just one thing though.

ANCHOR (OP)
But the highlight of the night itself was after the event, when Mr. Brooks made a shocking revelation about a secret he had been hiding from us all.

RITCHIE BROOKS
But right now, I have something I need to share with all of you. It’s…it’s a secret concerning Mainframe that I’ve been hiding from all of you.

I wonder if the expression “hiding from you” is appropriate coming out from a politician addressing the media? Wouldn’t he use more diplomatic terms? Something like “I have something I need to share with all of you…It’s a top-secret initiative concerning Mainframe”?

and that’s all I have to say about Part 1. Other than that bit of dialogue, I really loved it.

ok, moving on to Part 2:

ISABEL (VO)
Answers which I have a right to.
“Answers which I have a right to know”, right?

“She turns away from her brother and look out the window”
how does the reader know that Isabel and Ian are siblings? It’s not established earlier in the story. Perhaps you could hint at it during the VO that precedes this scene.

pages 6&7
Convenient store
it’s “convenience store”

GL
“I’m sure her fucking dad would like to see his little girl in more ways than one.”
I do get what you’re trying to say here but it doesn’t actually quite make sense. It sounds..wrong? like broken English or something

IAN
This country originally belonged to the Red Indians. The whites were just a bunch of pilgrim sickos who liked to fuck with the Indians and slaughtered all of their women and children…just like what you’re doing, only a little bit more brutal. And they still have the thickest of skins to call this piece of shit land their own.
I felt that this was too long winded/preachy and a bit of a biased/racist history lesson of sorts, if you get what I mean? and it’s kinda unnecessary, don’t you think? after he says “This ain’t your country either” and GL turns around, pissed, Ian could go on saying something like “You all think you’re cowboys, don’t you?”. He’s still referring to the bit of history involving the Whites wiping out the Red Indians and the torture and shame that they put them through, all without too many words..and I think it makes him sound much more powerful.

ok that’s all I’ve got. overall I was left wondering if you’d gone overboard with the convenience store scene. like if you’ve made it longer than it really needs to be. also, I don’t know if I missed something along the way, but who’s Max, Cassidy and Naz? I didn’t quite get their relevance to Part 2.

it’s an awesome effort and it’s real exciting to see things taking shape. I’ll get down to checking out the other scripts soon! keep it up man!
