When Wrestling Used to be Good

And these are just some of the best moments of the Attitude Era – the decade when wrestling is truly entertaining and feuds are built up properly (Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Rock / Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon / The Rock vs. Mankind, etc.), unlike the stuff that they spew out nowadays involving premature feuds like Orton vs. Cena or CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy, who by the way is one of the most overrated Superstars who can’t wrestle or unable to execute wrestling moves properly.

And that’s the bottom line, ‘CAUSE STONE COLD SAID SO!

Call for Artists

I am on a quest to find a comic book artist.

I’m currently writing my own comic book series called “Eras”, an epic fantasy/sci-fi tale that has been my baby since I was 12. It was due to a massive positive response a couple of years back that I decided to get real serious about it.

I am willing to pay a reasonable sum. I truly believe this project will be a hit because I have let a group of people (comic enthusiasts/writers) read my material, and overall, they agreed that it’s awesome stuff and can’t wait to see it in print.

So to any of you interested, aspiring comic book artist, you can reach me at hady17@gmail.com. Only those who are living in Singapore may write in due to geographical reasons. I believe it’s better to personally meet and negotiate the price, working terms and rights, etc.

I will provide further details regarding the project in my response mail.

In the red,
Hady

Happy 44th Birthday, Chinapore!

Almost a week has passed since National Day, and even though it is known throughout the world as Singapore’s birthday, in reality, it’s actually the birthday of another China province – Chinapore.

And in the spirit of this auspicious occasion, I’m putting up this article that I found earlier this year about how a Singaporean Chinese wrote to Lee Kuan Yew, telling him how uncomfortable and out-of-place he feels being in his own country. It has come to the point where the flooding of PRC immigrants have threatened not only the minorities here, but also their local Chinese counterparts. Clearly, this is not a matter of race anymore.

This is a matter of nationality.

Here is the link to the article:

…and my comment:
finally, a true Singaporean who is Chinese has spoken up. as a guy who was born in the 80s and had no problem socializing and befriending people of other races, i’m proud to say that i have an assortment of Malay, Chinese and Indian friends (even Russians and Americans too). but ever since i start seeing more China-born people coming here with their cheap pink ICs and their rude behavior and their notion that this country somewhat belongs to China too (which greedily took Hong Kong and Taiwan), as a Malay, i feel threatened and sad to see my homeland in this part of the region is being assimilated into the China mainland mentality and social structure. long gone are the days that we Singaporeans truly feel like Singaporeans. One people, one nation. I don’t have a problem with foreigners. I have a problem with my country being foreign to me. now, more and more Singaporeans feel that they’re just Singaporeans by place of birth, not by identity. but hey, if the Govt likes the idea so much, why don’t they just hold their GEs in Shanghai or Beijing? it’s the motherland, right?

Seriously, Government of Singapore…when are you going to stop cradling the balls of China and hand over Singapore back to the Singaporeans?

Bunnymania

My girlfriend has been mentioning about dwarf rabbits. I looked them up on Wikipedia and YouTube, and I gotta say, they’re right up there with cats for me. Adorable little critters.
